Danish National Girls’ Choir
Segerstrom Hall (Costa Mesa)
April 11

Join St. Michael’s Friends of Music and Choirmaster Lukas Hasler on Saturday, April 11, for an extraordinary evening of music performed by the Danish National Girls’ Choir and the Danish String Quartet. Featuring a stunning new work by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Lang, this collaboration between two of Denmark’s most celebrated ensembles promises to be a powerful celebration of artistry and innovation.

Lang’s libretto is based on Henry David Thoreau’s 1851 essay “Walking” interspersed with two poems by Hans Christian Andersen. The piece was commissioned by the Danish National Girls’ Choir, U.C. Santa Barbara, Stanford University, Carnegie Hall, and the Philharmonic Society of Orange County, among others.

Tickets in the Orchestra section of Segerstrom Hall cost $71. Contact Louise Stover ([email protected]) to reserve your ticket. Payment to St. Michael’s Friends of Music is due by Sunday, March 8. We’ll evaluate transportation to/from St. Michael’s later in March.

Segerstrom Hall is located in the Segerstrom Center for the Arts at 600 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa, CA 92626.
