VBS Takes Young People to the Mountain Tops
No one does VBS like St. Mike's does VBS. No canned curriculum for us. Our programs are lovingly handcrafted by Director of Christian Education Susan Caldwell, and run by a cadre of volunteers from the parish. In the past we have had characters appear in VBS such as the Virgin of Guadalupe, Saint George and the no good, very bad dragon, and many more. This year our shortened (it's usually four days) program takes children to the sites where the most profound religious experiences have occurred: mountain tops. Which historical figures might they meet on this journey? Rumor has it that Moses will be one of them.
We will be hosting VBS on Friday, July 16 and Friday, July 23. On our first Friday night together, we will be sharing the stories about the mountains in the Bible. On our second Friday night together, we will be discussing the famous mountains around the world. Vacation Bible School is for ages 3 years old to 4th grade. Grades 5th-8th may sign up as Youth helpers. Our time together begins at 5:30pm. We finished our program at 7:45pm. Cost this year per family is $20.00 for both evenings. Dinner is included. Scholarships are available. If you would like to make donations to VBS, financial or food, beverages, this would be a great help! Please see our list below of needs. The class will meet outside, and will be CDC and diocesan compliant.
