Transition Update | The Vestry's Mutual Ministry Review Part I
St. Michael's vestry met on Saturday, February 27, 2021, to undertake a Mutual Ministry Review (MMR). An MMR is a facilitated process that enables a vestry to self-reflect and ask, “How are we doing?” It is a required step for the vestry as we anticipate the work of the Transition Committee and prepare for the next steps of the Rector Search.
St. Michael’s MMR was guided by Fr. Tom Quijada-Discavage, a trained facilitator from the Diocesan Office of Formation and Transition Ministry. Respect guidelines were observed. Everyone shared and was encouraged to speak openly and support a process of discovery.
The MMR made us take time to talk honestly and begin to discern what areas of focus might better the growth of God’s Kingdom and the service of God’s people at St. Michael and All Angels and in the larger community. The table below shows the topics the vestry prioritized and discussed. Meeting notes will be published with the next vestry minutes and shared with the Transition Committee.
