Inklings starts 2021 with a series of fairy tales about faith by George MacDonald, The Princess and the Goblin and The Princess and the Curdie.
MacDonald is remembered as the father of modern fantasy writing. He had an acknowledged influence on his fellow Inklings, C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien. Lewis had particularly high regard for MacDonald's children's stories, finding inspiration in the animal characters and Christian themes. His writings have been cited as a major literary influence by many notable authors including Lewis Carroll, W.H. Auden, Mark Twain, and Madeleine L'Engle.
