2022 Parish Profile Complete & Rector Search Committee Announced!

It is our great pleasure to start the new year with some happy and exciting news about our Rector Search!

The first milestone is completion of Saint Michael and All Angels Parish Profile [Download PDF], which is now posted on the parish website, stmikescdm.org. The Parish Profile is the product of the dedicated and talented Transition Committee led by Lynn Headley. Their names are listed below. We are most grateful for their many hours of hard work. The next official step is to post the profile on the Diocese of Los Angeles and National Episcopal Church websites, which will invite clergy who may be interested in a call to St. Michael’s to enter the search process.

Our job now is to prepare to evaluate the candidates whose names we receive and prayerfully discern how well they match the criteria identified in the Parish Profile. We do this by establishing a second committee, the Rector Search Committee. We have an amazing collection of hearts, minds, and voices who have volunteered to serve. They are:

Save The Date! Please join Sunday Worship on 1/16/2022, when we will officially commission the Rector Search Committee in the Name of God and on behalf of our parish family. We hope you will attend to show your support for the committee and their important work.

The Rector Search Committee will act as a sub-committee of the Vestry, leveraging the services and resources of the Diocese of Los Angeles while seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit to bring a call to the Vestry. The Rector Search Committee will interview interested candidates and evaluate how well they match the criteria identified by the Transition Committee’s Parish Profile. There is no time limit for this process, but it typically takes six months. The Rector Search Committee will ramp up in January 2022.
